Dhiahamara - The Teprogrenaian Consensus has come to a decision about The Cradle. 72,9% of the people did eventually agree to let the station in orbit around Dhiahamara. “If the station is an act of offence, so are the defense canons, and we cannot move those”, has been the main argument to let the station hang in its orbit. The ship is of course a great weapon for orbital bombardment, “but it is just plain stupid to bombard our own people on our own home planet”, according to both the high officers of the navy and the farmers.

Angry representatives who feel offended by the presence of the ship cannot be excluded of course, but the board of The Great Intergalactic Discussion of Life will do their best to minimize any nuisance in a civilized way.

Planet-wide power outage

Mirda - The population of Mirda was harshly reminded of the tremendous growth the Commonwealth experienced since we joined the Union. Multiple concurrent power failures have plagued the Smi-Halek power grid since the start of the week, resulting in interrupted production and loss of business opportunities.

"This is completely unacceptable; we can not guarantee the safety of the transportation network, or the health of patients in the hospital. The emperor should have seen this coming! If this continues any longer, we can't even watch a decent holonet series any more.", said a member of the public. A nobleman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "Why is the Emperor offering refuge to the Twi'lek when his own people don't have enough power?"

Sentiments like this are the order of the day, and many feel that the Imperial administration should have acted before the situation became as it is now.

Veolian Commonwealth undertakes massive cataloguing effort

Mirda - A multi-billion credit research program has been started up under the auspices of the Khaw family. The program, dubbed "Genetic Lineage Analysis", includes the indexing of already compiled genetic profiles of noble families. What really sets this program apart from previous attempts at large-scale cataloguing of lineage is the the creation of extensive new profiles of all volunteers, including slaves, simple peasants and anyone else wishing to record their genetic profile.

"Once the genealogical archives are completed, we will offer match-ups to any and all Veolians. No longer will genetic matching be the domain of noble families.", said lady Khaw Henalka, the instigator of the project. She continued with: "Should the project be deemed worthy of the full support of the Imperial family we hope to expand our efforts to offer aid to any individual in the Union -- there is no reason others shouldn't be allowed to benefit from the progress we make."

Glasslyn - The newly formed group is a joint-venture of several firms specializing in organics and electronics, unifying their collective resources and R&D, to spearhead research into of carbon based conductive polymers, plastics, or small molecules or other suitable organic materials; covering practical experimentation, production and in-depth research and analysis. Conductive polymers are lighter, more flexible, and less expensive than inorganic conductors. This makes them a desirable alternative in many applications.

Dryatech Consortium opens headquarters on Mirda

Mirda - The Dryatech consortium, bankrolled by the imperial family, with a modest donation by Liberal Assencia, will focus on genetic enhancement of crops and farm animals, is expected to open it's headquarters in the coming week. This will be the first consortium of Veolian corporations that will compete on a Union-wide scale.

As the formation talks are nearing their end, no formal coordinator for the consortium's efforts has been appointed yet. A spokesperson of one of the involved companies told us: "We are currently weighing our options, of course the opinion of the imperial palace will be taken into account. You can be sure that a coordinator will be chosen before the official opening of our new headquarters."

Darya - This week president Trotsnik from the Unified Republic of Darya appeared on stage on the planet of Sokar.
“Fellow mudry today the first step of repairing the damage done to Sokar has been officially completed. With the help of our good comrades form the Veolian Commonwealth we have managed to restore part of the atmosphere on Sokar. Now for the first time since the civil war it is possible for mudry to fly with there own wings in the atmophere of Sokar.”

The image then panned out to show a large fields on Sokar behind her in a large window. Where some mudry in light environment suits were flying around.

DVF Organics officially open for business.

Darya - On screen an image appears of the minister of agriculture of Darya together with several other dignitaries.
“And after a long time of diligent work I can now declare Darya Vertical Farming officially open for buisness.” The minister then gets handed a pair of large sizzors who then cuts the large ribbon haning in front of the door. Under applause the image then zooms out to show a large green and white wing like structure holding the logo of the DVF Organics company.

It's a race!

Former Senator Lonco Morubixaba of Skuldda, freed after serving a four month sentence in a Union jail and recently deposed as Senator and replaced by Senator Cabew Illix, has issued a formal challenge with the Skulddan High Chiefs!

Claiming that the issues surrounding his person are acts by political rivals to discredit him, he has laid an open challenge to Senator Cabew Illix to a race, with the position of Senator being placed in the balance. The High Chiefs have supported the challenge, so if Cabew Illix were to refuse, this would be a huge disgrace and would leave an irreparable mark on the younger senators career. It is therefore expected the senator will accept.

The race, to take place at a later date as of yet unspecified will determine which of the two men will be the future Senator for Skuldda!

Dryatech Consortium to be led by Iaat

Mirda - After much debate, ended by the what some call 'the thundering voice of the imperial family', the director of the Dryatech Consortium has been announced: Iaat Vyapar. The appointment of an Iaat to this prestiges position comes as a surpirse to most, but insiders admitted to have suspicions in this direction. "A clear pattern of divide and conquer can be discerned when one looks below the veneer of the Imperial Council", an anonymous source declared.

House Iaat, derogatively known as the peoples house, rejoices at the sudden appointment. Iaat Vyapar himself commented: "It is due time that the other noble houses recognize House Iaat as a worthy competitor. Though we may not have a fancy family history, or a tradition of strong bloodlines, we are many, and we will be heard!"

Tensions run high on Mirda after Lady Khaw Rohanna, a well-known geneticist and economic advisor to the veolian embassies, commented: "This regrettable appointment is just the last in a trend of cultural impoverishment. It would be better if this Iaat whelp would go back to farming, and leave the grand endeavours in the hands of the nobility."

Tirbu System - Tensions run rampart on Skuldda in preparation for what has become known as the Senatorial Race, specifically regarding the track that will be raced.

Calls of foul were made after former-senator Lonco was seen training on the track where the race is to be held. His opponents pointed out that since Senator Cabew has obligations in the senate, he will be unable to train on the actual track before the race, giving former-senator Lonco an unfair advantage.

The former senator responded to these accusations that he has to train somewhere adding that he always found time to race during his senatorship, something confirmed by the large number of traffic violations made by the former senator in Unity City.

A committee has been assigned to resolve the dispute, but whatever the outcome, it is clear this race will not be a friendly one."

Sundarian Federation completes Survey & Scanning fleet

Making use of the advice and research which followed from the Summit on Colonization and Galactic Survey and Scanning techniques, Sundarian engineers and research staff have combined their efforts to complete the first Survey Fleet of the Sundarian Federation.



The ships are newly commissioned, using highly modern designs custom build by the Praetorian Empire, outfitted with latest technology on navigation, scanning, mapping and probes, build by the crafty scientists of the Sundarian Federation. Their highly specialized crews have received their training and they are now ready to provide their services Unionwide.

Landslide victory for Senator Bolv'ar!

Unity City - With the results being in, it has become clear Senator Bolv'ar has managed to secure a landslide victory today, placing him solidly as the next Unions Chancellor, starting Turn 61.

Political analysts cite a weak campaign by Chancellor Acehtoo, combined with increased worries about the Slave Rebellion - Hutt Families war as primary reasons for the shifting political tides, while others suggest that after 60 turns in office, Chancellor Acehtoo was growing complacant in her position while the Union wanted to bring about a change.

With such a solid majority, it appears as if the new Chancellor has the support of the people to bring about his plans for increasing the Unions defence forces and stimulating the development of military technology.

The UEAC is Back

Nest - After a multi-week complete radio silence from the Unified Empire of Azaryan Colonies, contact has finally been restored after a small troop of Union forces managed to make an unguided landing onto their main planet, Nest. UEAC officials claim that their communications infrastructure was suffering from catastrophic failure after an earthquake swept over the planet.

Even though the Union troops did confirm destruction of some of Nest's communications equipment and recent violent trmors, it is by no means sure that the actual cause of this radio silence was this earthquake. Main cause of speculation is the absence of the Azaryan ambassador who missed out on her first chance to vote for a chancellor. The UEAC Embassy refuses to give any further comment apart that 'They regret the unfortunate coincidence of events and wish chancellor Bolv'ar the wisest of choices in his oncoming period of leadership.'

The UEAC stresses that they are rapidly recovering from the disaster and expect things to return back to normal over the next coming weeks.

Fatalities and heavy casualties during joint strike training!

Mirda - Last night, we received reports of a military exercise gone wrong. What was to be a joint strike training of the house militaries of houses Nehket and Shebi turned into a disaster with at least 20 fataly wounded.

It all started, when two and a half weeks ago, a small group of special operations vessels were dispatched from the militaries of both houses, carrying a total of 2000 operatives. Their official assignments read: "Participation in a joint strike training in the Prasikana system", further inquiry offered some insight as to the goal of the training. We quote from the official reply: "This joint strike training will focus on orbital deployment of counter-insurgency troops into an urban environment."

For those unaware of stellar geography, the Prasikana system is a small, core-ward system comprised of a red giant encircled by a large asteroid belt. The system has no known infrastructure, and offers very little in the way of urban environments. Both noble houses refused to comment on the situation, but we have received reports indicating at least 20 fatalities, 2 missing and over 400 heavy casualties. None of the returning operatives have been willing to release further details. In fact, they all replied with silence or "This training is classified."

General Dewa Kilmar offers us the the following on the issue: "As this mission was a joint operation of houses Shebi and Nehket, I have not been made aware of the details. However, I can offer some insight based on the public mission data. As you know objectives included: increased deployment efficiency, on-site threat assessment, and improved CQC effectiveness with a focus on violence of action. I surmise that this was a life-fire exercise intended to attain a very high degree of realism. Obviously, someone dropped the ball. What strikes me as odd is the choice of Prasikana, and the use of high-end orbital deployment vessels for simple transportation -- I think that both houses should come clean on the events, but as this is an internal affair, they are entitled to cleaning up their own mess."

Empress Saret Neferti arrives on Unity

Unity - Earlier today the first wife of the emperor of the Veolian Commonwealth arrived on Unity. Around 14:40 the imperial yacht Naukā-lon-dorne was seen entering the Unity City dome, landing on the Veolian embassies flight pad.

The empress will be staying for three weeks, after which she will head back to Mirda. During her stay, she will visit chancellor Bolv'ar to congratulate him on his victory, and to discuss the current political situation with regards to the refugees taken on by the Veolian Commonwealth.

Furthermore, the Veolian Embassy has indicated that she will be entertaining representatives of allies of the commonwealth, and that the last week of her visit is reserved for audiences with Union citizens.

Senator Cabew Illix of Skuldda loses race, possibly Senatorship!

Tirbu System - Despite being given the use of a brand new supercharged engine, specially constructed by a conglomerate of Heimgolian vehicle manufacturers, Senator Cabew Illix of Skuldda today lost the race against former Senator Lonco Morubixaba, which means there is now a solid chance the former senator will retake his previous position in the Union Senate.

Senator Cabew Illix had no comment at this time, but the race's winner, former senator Lonco Morubixaba stated "I believe I have proven to be the better man for the job, especially considering Senator Cabew used his political connections to acquire a special vehicle from the Heimgolians designed to crush my old racer. But Heimgolian engineering is no match for Skulddaran expertise. It also shows them and especially their allies not to interfere in Skulddaran internal affairs."

No doubt if the former senator indeed reclaims his job, the effects of this will ripple through the relationships between Union worlds.

First there is the election for policies. In this process any inhabitant from the republic may suggest a policy. Whey they have enough signatures this policy will be added to the election.

The second part is the election to see who gets the positions. Once again any person that is an inhabitant of the republic can be electable for a position.” The image the switched back to the presenter. “But then Pyotr what happens when someone gets elected and they don't want to hold themselves to one of the policies?” “That is very easy as you have heard the president say the politicians will be held accountable. Any minister that cannot show that they did there best in fulfilling the policies will have to face justice. You might remember the old minister of agriculture refused to perform a vaccination program and was sent to jail for it.” “Ahh yes Yuri Mihaylov he was sentenced for disrupting democracy.”

Senate wall defaced by unknown activists!

Unity City - Senate Security was embarrassed today as unknown activists were able to sneak through their security perimeter, infiltrate the building and leaving graffiti tags in various places. Amongst the places tagged were the main senate hall, the Excarrian Embassy and offices reserved for the use of the Veolian Commonwealth, Praetorian Empire and Sundarian Federation within the Senate Building.

Though the tags were cleaned up swiftly, our reporters managed to acquire this shot of the actual tag left by the activists.



It is as of yet unclear how the activists managed to evade the senate's security systems and what exactly they were trying to accomplish.

The Hiocan Society will hold its first Intergalactic Science Conference

The normal five year annual Hiocan Science Conference is opening its doors for all Union scientists. An new conference centre has been carved in the rocky parts to the east of the capital Mya. It offers an interesting cave structure which give natural cooling from the outside where it can reach 70°C. There are multiple small caves with have been converted to gardens.

The conference will be in half a year and will last five days and each discipline has its own area. They are all connected to a big cave in the middle with food court and a fountain. Each day the focus will be on a different subject and various parallel presentation session will be given.

The Hiocan Embassy is very busy with the preparations for the press information as to enlighten the scientist from other factions about how science is conducted within the Hiocan Society and culture and also the other way around, to inform the Hiocans about the custom of other cultures. With this they hope to encourage intergalactic science projects and get a better relationship with various factions.

Riki-Mirkaru facility offline, bio-containment protocol failure!

Mirda - An as of yet unknown number of creatures escaped during a power failure at the remote Riki-Mirkaru research facility. The research facility suffered a critical power failure due to a freak lightning strike from one of the heavy thunderstorms that frequently arise in the area. The Riki-Mirkaru facility is officially deemed to be under the protection of the Imperial Decree on constructed genetic experimentation. But it has long been a public secret that the facility's main focus has been research into chimera's, or mixed-heritage creatures.

The Riki-Mirkaru facility, previously a subsidiary of House Dewa's Saramuhe Bio-fabrication holding company, has recently been acquired by House Iaat through a well-prepared merger during the establishment of the Dryatech consortium. According to House Dewa "the merger has put in motion an Iaat plot to cut costs and employees by ignoring security regulations and showing a blatant disregard for the safety of the employees. An incident like this was to be expected."

Though no official statement has been made yet, we have received estimates putting the number of escaped creatures around 60, ranging from simple single-celled specimens to horse-sized arthropods. Iaat special operatives have been seen entering the area, but there has been no confirmed communication with the facility itself.

Vandals break ancient monument

Scir - Unknown vandals today broke into an ancient burial mound on Scir, toppling tombstones and breaking artefacts. When authorities found the ancient metal gate blocking entry removed a team of archaeologists and police was sent inside to investigate. The burial mound, having sat undisturbed for almost nine centuries, was filled with empty bottles of alcohol and one of the tombs had been urinated into.

The desecration caused an uproar amongst Scir historians who demanded better protection for these historical sites. When asked one of their leaders explained:

"This burial mound is an important part of the history of our world, containing the remains of ancient kings and queens. Their archaeological value is immeasurable and they must remain undisturbed so future generations will be able to benefit and learn from our history. To discover that these... these... barbarians could get in there by merely cutting open a metal grate..."

Authorities have vowed to catch the vandals who by now probably regret their no doubt drunken antics.

50th child born to Imperial Prince Odakim V

Deominius - Official sources today announced the birth of the 50th child of Imperial Prince Odakim V, a daughter, number 23, born to his sixth wife Nefernofret. The child will, by Deominian custom, not be named until her first birthday.

While for many species having fifty children is not that complicated, humanoid species like the Ehmet have a gestation period of around 38 and often have only one child per gestation cycle, making the act of siring fifty children quite a feat.

High priestes of the Divine Nova Triage is comming to Unity

Stellaria - A spokes woman for the Divine Nova Triage, the largest Astrian religious group, announced that one of their High priestesses is comming to Unity in a few weeks.

According to the Triages beliefs planets are protected by their system star, a goddess. Since Unity is a rogue planet and doesn't have a central star, several requests have been made by members and followers for guidance. A general sence of discomfort and fear has been reported among the followers and members. The High priestes will spend a few days in Unity City before making a public announcement on her findings, after which she will return to Stellaria.

Non of the High priestesses have ever left the Astrian homeworld. While the Divine Nova Triages following numbers under a million people, many non-religious Astrians put value in the words of it.
