Namespaces
Previous experiences setting up a wiki using a detailed structure of name-spaces have met with mixed results. Name-spaces can be useful in providing templates, but make it harder to link to information, as a namespace must always be included with the link.
To simplify things, we propose to use only a limited set of name-spaces, by OOC function:
- Wiki - (:) the core namespace, used in rare cases for such things as introductory pages, or OOC tools.
- IC - (ic:) the IC name space. All documents here are IC. This name space should not be further divided up into other namespaces.
- Rules - (rules:) the rules space. These documents are OOC rules for the game, such as how trade routes work.
- Guides - (guides:) the OOC space where guides and manuals are placed.
- Technical - (tech:) the technical space. Pages here are devoted to the technical workings of the site and tools.
- User Namespace - (user:) the user name space. Make your own name space, make pages or muck about, or try out cool things.
- DokuWiki - (wiki:) the documentation for how a DokuWiki works.
If you have suggestions regarding this, we are open to other ideas!
