Based on the mutations in augmented species, this research allows those who have recessive augmented genes to express them more easily.

Factions with the Augmented Species special are normally limited in the amount of their population that is allowed to express the augmented gene. This technology allows the proportion of that population to grow over time by an additional 5%.

Note that this does not actually provide the extra population or growth, nor is the existing population modified. However, other technologies or actions (such as the Xeno-obstetrics or Genome Correctors technology) may allow you to grow one population more than another and the ratio of augmented to non-augmented individuals may increase.

For example, if you have 10 billion total population and the Augmented Species special once, you would normally have 9 billion population of the regular type and 1 billion augmented population. When you gain 1 billion population (for example through a project), you could assign 0.35 to the regular population and 0.65 to the augmented population, rather than 0.9 to the regular and 0.1 to the augmented population. The new total population would be 11 billion, with 9.35 billion regular and 1.65 augmented.
