Open Market

Besides direct trade between worlds, it is also possible to trade with the Open Market. Trade with the Open Market represents trade with independent minor worlds, civilian organisations and any number of other groups and individuals.

As a general rule, the open market offers worse conditions than producing your own goods, or trading with other players. This is intentional. The Open Market helps to overcome unbalanced production and help players get temporary access to goods they need until they can set up a better arrangement - it is not intended as a replacement for regular exchanges.

See Trading with the Open Market for the rules regarding the actual goods transfer. This page explains how the Open Market determines what you have to pay, or how tax you get for selling goods.

Buying and Selling

Each of the Raw Materials, Products or Special Goods traded on the Open Market has two prices: a selling price and a buying price. The selling price is the price that you get for every item you sell to the open market. The buying price is the price you pay for every item you buy.

Prices are listed as decimal numbers, however it is not possible to pay non-integer amounts of . Instead, add all incoming and outgoing trade and determine the amount of taxes you have to pay or that you receive. If you have to pay, round up to the nearest whole integer. Thus, if you must pay 122,001 , you actually pay 123. If you receive, round down to the nearest whole integer. Thus, if you receive 122,999 you actually receive 122. In effect, always round to your disadvantage.

Prices on the Open Market are subject to changes depending on political circumstances. Prices will not change on a turn by turn basis. This will not be a heavily fluctuating market. Instead, specific events will take place which adjust the prices. These events will be listed on the Forum when they happen, with a notation of what prices changed.

In the table below the prices of the various goods are listed. They may get a better place of their own at a later time.
