Rather than a regular asteroid belt consisting of rock, the region of the heliosphere beyond the termination shock called the Heliosheath of this system is much more extensive. As a result, the Hydrogen Wall and Heliopause contain much more gas than most systems.

Rather than a normal asteroid belt, the extended heliosheath is made up of clouds of gas spread out over the orbit. As a result, the six zones normally available only for metal mining may be mined only for gas instead. As is normal with asteroid belts, these zones may not be upgraded, incorporated or focussed. Like asteroid belts, these zones may not be terraformed.

Each zone in the Extended Heliosheath provides a production bonus of +40 when mining gasses (in addition to the +10 from cold orbit).

Like a regular asteroid belt, an extended heliosheath may have moons - these moons are not big enough to clear the rock from their orbit and likewise they are not capable of clearing the gas from their orbit. They still count as moons for purposes of specials. Like an Asteroid Belt, an extended heliosheath may not have rings.
