Hiocan Rituals

The Hiocan have worshipped the sun in old ages are their home planet is warm and dry. The sun has 5 phases from sunrise, morning, midday, afternoon to sunset. Therefore 5 has become an important number.
Coming of age
The growth of children has been divided in 5 steps of 5 years; toddler from 0-5 years, child from 5-10, 10-15 teenager, pre-adolescent from 15-20, adolescent from 20-25. Each fifth year is celebrated and involves kauki (5) rituals. The symbol for these rituals stand a flower with a yellow (sun) center and 5 leafs each a different colors, toddler white, child green, teenager orange, pre-adolescent red and adolescent purple. After completion each individual received a petal and this can be in form of a pin, necklace etc.
Engagements and marriages
When a Hiocan is mature at 25 it is common to either get engaged or get married. Arranged married happen quite often as it is considered logical for fitting people to become partners.
