The planets planets were given names from the pantheon the Tefnutians had brought with them from their original home planet and worshipped, however as the they started to grasp the science their masters had forced upon them, they lost faith in most deities. Dispite this a few names and beliefs of that old era still hold the same power and impact to this day. Many Tefnutians still treat Sekhmet, Bast and Tefnut as though they were deities, although common belief is that they were legendary Tefnutian ancesters rather than actual gods.
Although the Embers of Aten have a democratic government, the queen ultimately has the final say over any laws and in times of emergency, she is responsible for her people. Her actions are always limited to what the teachings of Sekhmet, Bast and Tefnut allow and whenever a “monarch” deviates from these, she is removed and a follower will be elected. This event has never occured, as all Tefnutians are incredably strong of will.
