Chancelor Acehtoo has raised the point about blasphemy in the Senate and she has a proposal to ban blasphemy, personal insults and specific curse words. Senator Danar Tassar, SenatorNehket Aeka, Lord-SenatorKachiso Doshima, Ardios Eldrilith and Senator Harek joined in the conservation. Chancelor Acehtoo deliberated on the outcome.
Senator Danar Tassar had issues with banning personal insult as he thought that you cannot always know beforehand if something is insulting to a person, and this could also lead to abuse. He was against blasphemy as this would block discussion
Senator Nehket Aeka was in favour of banning personal insult but against banning blasphemy and curse words. She felt that some cultures would be placed above others by banning blasphemy and there are too many different languages to ban specific words without tempering in someones language.
Lord-Senator Kachiso Doshima proposed to start with a definition and came with one describing deities and what happens to a person when he dies. Since a person can insult somebody by accident, he wanted to give the insulting party the opportunity to apologise.
Senator Ardios Eldrilith believed banning insults and curse words was not the solution, and proposed to start talking via a chairman. He also believed that everybody in the senate was equal and should act like civilized people.
Senator Harek agreed that blasphemy is a very difficult subject and that everybody in the senate should be respectful. He proposed to set up some kind of etiquettes for senate debates.
Senator Nehket Aeka continued on Doshimas definition by pointing out that it is a deity centric definition, placing religions and cultures with a deity in protection while prohibiting the rest of voicing their opinion.
Senator Danar Tassar was of opinion that religion is a debate alone, since there also cults, believes, theories, lifestyles and so on, which should be handled equally. He agreed with Ardios that debates should not be personally, but proposed to do so by using the 'we' form.
Lord-Senator Kachiso Doshima was selected winner because of his definition, the Veolian Commonwealth had a notable mentioning for their influential arguments
