While the Astrians currently have sexual equality this wasn't always the case. Around 600 years before the Cataclism of Partesia males where seen as lesser beings. Astrian men where treated as slaves, in a society where females ruled. They where considered objects, they had no rights what so ever. They where thought from birth that women where untouchable, that a man could not kill a woman. They where forced to fight for the entertainment of the women. A man walking in the streets alone was considered fair game for reproduction. and many other horror where inflicted.

That is until one day a man killed a women that had raped him. The man was immediately condemned to death for his crime, but it was already to late. Males had heard the story and every where they rose up against the females. The conflict that followed was long and bloody. Not even the relentless Stellarian summers, that had stopped massive armies dead in its tracks, could bring peace to Stellaria. The females where better equipped and better trained, but the males where physical stronger and had slightly greater numbers. Eventually the females stopped the relentless advance of the males. They now had a stalemate at the Partesia mountain range. One side was controlled by women, the other by men.

The stalemate is now known as the darkest period in Astrian history. On the female side men had it worse then ever before, on the male side women where now subject to the same atrocities they had inflicted on the men. For thirty years this state was maintained, the war had gone on for eighty.

But then a third party appeared. A young man, born and raised on the male side, called Illios asked himself: 'How is what we are doing now any different to what they did to us?' He started pleading with others for aid, but his words fell on deaf ears. After five years he had only a handful of people that followed him. He went to try his luck on the female side. Only to be captured and taken away. But he continued to call out for change and eventually he was heard by the High Priestess of the School of Blood. The Divine Nova Triage was much larger in those days and the High Priestess used her full authority over her school to attack the leadership of both sides.

It took the Divine Nova Triage just three months to force both sides on their knees. The Lady of Blood had taken total control, together with Illios. After six years they made the choice to execute the leaders of both sides. During the large parade to the execution site, both Illios and the High Priestess where killed by a masked man and a masked woman. The Gender War was finally officially over and the people had seen their mistakes. The Astrians vowed that from that point everyone was equal.

The Cataclism of Partesia (commonly referred to as The Cataclysm) was an enormous event on the Astrian homeworld of Stellaria in the Partesia mountain range that caused massive damage to the planets ecosystem, wiping out half of the life on the planet. Dozens of species went extinct. The massive crater it left behind is clearly visible from space and can even be seen from Lunia, Stellarias moon.

What The Cataclysm was exactly is unknown and there is still much debate in the scientific community about this subject. What every one agrees on however, is that without The Cataclysm the Stellarian Triad Federation would not exist and that the Astians would still be stuck in the Novalia System.

There is considerable investment into research of the crater and The Cataclism as it has and still continues to provide massive amounts of Information.
