Recently a nebula in sector 7 -3 has begun to lose some of it's mass without any indication what has caused this. The Astrian Colonial Authority, being the closest to the area, has offered to send a team of scientists to investigate the phenomenon. The Jedi council was asked to send a Jedi Knight and a Padawan to escort the science team. Jedi Knight Shebi Ajava and Padawan Ariana Danacia were sent. Together with the scientists, they travelled on the Labraham Incoln.
Within the nebula, the team discovered a large object seemingly made of organic material. The Jedi both felt a strong presence in the force, and theorized that it was a creature. After a drone was sent to determine the conditions near the creature, the scientists and the Jedi donned their space suits to go for a walk on the object. Their first discovery came when they realized after a while that they were walking on the creature though the object was too small to generate gravity of that magnitude.
Betrayal
While walking towards one of the interesting parts of the creature, the scientists and the Jedi were attacked by the crew of the Labraham Incoln. After a short but violent fight, a stand-off was reached. Though the Jedi could easily hold their ground against the crewmembers, they could not protect the scientists while fighting the crew members. At the same time, the crew couldn't attack because they couldn't take down the Jedi, and as soon as the scientists were take out, the Jedi would turn their attention to the crew. The Labraham Incolne itself couldn't fire, as it would anger the creature, which was several times larger than the vessel.
The Jedi negotiated with the captain of the vessel for safe passage, but were met with distrust from the captain. After a while Shebi Ajava convinced the captain to let them back aboard, saying that she had little interest in further bloodshed and only wanted to bring the scientists home safely. During the stand-off, the Jedi discovered that the creature was capable of telepathic communication, and intelligent enough to hold a simple conversation.
Once aboard, the situation was still tense. Ariana Danacia brought the wounded scientists and crewmembers to the sickbay to treat them. In the meantime, Ajava went to negotiate a deal with the captain. She offered to find a new employer for the captain, one that paid well instead of their current existence living from pay-day to pay-day with little in between. The captain reluctantly agreed, and the peace was restored.
Birth of a Star
The ship held position for a few days to allow the scientists to observe the creatures as more of them arrived here. It was unclear what the creatures were doing here, or why they arrived in such numbers. Until the second day, when a star formed inside the circle of creatures. This led to a large amount of commotion under the scientists and the Jedi. A conflict ensued about whether this data could be made public or not. In the end, it was decided that the data should be classified for now, as making it public would be painting a target on the creatures.
