Former Stellarian Triad Federation

The Stellarian Triad Federation was composed of three separate nations that unified in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event on the STF home planet. Being a rather primitive planet the event led to the death of an estimated of 50% of all life on the planet and the extinction of dozens of species, both fauna and flora. The STF is located on the planet Stellaria and its citizens are the Astrians.

In an attempt to survive each nation began a growth spurt using whatever resources where available, and a technological and cultural boom soon followed in all three nations. Each surrounded only by nomads and small kingdoms which easily fell to the larger nations. More often than not they were simply annexed, until at one point two of the three met. Being rather unfamiliar with matching powers a few small battles at the border followed. But with both nations unwilling to spend precious resources on what could have been a long and brutal war a truce was made. The third nation came into the picture when the groups first sent researchers to the location of the cataclysm. Realizing the benefits of working together the three nations became more and more involved with each other, finally resulting in the creation of the Stellarian Triad Federation.

The STF is governed by the Triad Boards it consists of three separate groups that are each chosen in a different way.

The Admiralty Board consists of the higher military officers of the STF navy and marines and positions on the board are awarded at rank. They are tasked with all military matters and protecting the STF from all threats both internal and external.

The Peoples Board is made up out of politicians and is tasked with making laws and other governmental decisions. They are chosen by STF citizens every three years.

The Science Board chooses its members based on there intelligence and how innovative they are. They oversee the STF's advancement in knowledge and technology, it's made up out of some of the best and brightest minds in the STF. Apart from their individual tasks each board is to check and oversee the other two there for assuring that non of the boards ever gain to much power.

shortly before the Stellarian Triad Federation joined the Union there was a large internal conflict between the Triad Boards which nearly meant the end of the STF, only to be prevented by the actions of Maria Latharion who negotiated a compromise that benefited not the boards but the people.

Officially named the Stellarian Triad Federation Joint Naval Forces, STF Military has a non-aggression policy. Meaning they only use force in defence and peace keeping. The STF takes pride in it's military. It consists of two separate divisions, each with it's own speciality and command.

The STF Navy is the first and largest division of the STF Joint Naval Forces. It holds the top commanding officers of the Joint Naval Forces. All military fleets, military space stations and other space based military assets. They specialise in space-to-space, space-to-air and space-to-ground combat, as well as air-to-air and strategic air-to-ground combat. The highest achievable rank in the Navy is Lord-Fleet Admiral of the Navy or Lady-Fleet Admiral of the Navy.

The STF Marine Corps or STF Marines are the main ground forces of the STF Joint Naval Forces. It's assets include troops, ground based artillery, military vehicles and the Elite Special Forces, Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. They specialize in ground-to-ground, ground-to-air, ground-to-space and tactical air-to-ground combat. While the ODST's technically fall under space-to-ground combat, they are ground operatives and thus fall under the STF Marines. The highest rank attainable in the Marines is Lord-General or Lady-General, these ranks are one rank lower than the highest Navy rank.

Officially a sub group of both the Marines and the Navy, the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) handles military intelligence for the STF Joint Naval Forces. Their members come from both divisions and their operatives usually secretively monitor units from within.
