Shebi Ajava's Knights Trial

This report is private. Nothing in here is known to anyone. The only exception is the fact that Ajava went away on her knight's trial and returned alive and well to be knighted.

Jedi Master Jedi Master Screetor has summoned Shebi Ajava for her knight's trial. He said little about the mission, but informed her to meditate carefully.

After determining what she is going to take with her (which included her unfinished custom built lightsabers), Shebi Ajava went to the waiting ship. The ship's autopilot was already engaged, and carried her on a trip through hyperspace for several hours. Eventually, the ship landed on a planet with a breathable atmosphere and normal gravity.

Stepping out of the ship, she was greeted by a stunning vista of the ruins of an old temple (see story image), and an overwhelming sense of the dark side present here. Setting out to explore the temple, she starts by walking around the core building. Finding nothing of interest, she enters the temple just after the sun has set.

Inside the temple, Ajava relied on her night vision visor to explore the temple. Her explorations led her to find a large room with a strong dark side presence coming from a corridor. The walls of the large room were covered in writing, though unreadable due to the night vision. Through the corridor, which itself was decorated with frightening statues, she could see another large room with a large altar.

Opting to explore the rest of the temple before approaching the altar. Even though the temple was large, Ajava found only one other locations of note. A hall of pillars led the way to a dark door. She could feel cold radiating from the door, and a fluster as if someone whispering in the distance, calling to her without ever making enough noise for her to hear the whisper.

She returned to the large room with the writings and turned on her helmet's light, temporarily blinding herself. After her sight recovered, she started to translate the writings. According to the writings this room held the tomb of a fallen Jedi who had lived many centuries ago. This fallen Jedi had found a method which allowed him to draw out hidden abilities based on his own genetic history, by re-activating genes that lay dormant on the genome through the force. According to the text, the abilities included things like being able to breathe underwater, to regenerate lost limbs, and to smell almost anything even at great distances.

According to the text only one of exceptional genetic purity could ever hope to master it. Unfortunately as he had fallen from the grace of the Jedi and because of the times of chaos limiting communications - the secret of his power would be lost if he died. To prevent the loss of this most valuable knowledge, the fallen Jedi created a Holocron which contained his secrets, which he took with him to his grave.

Ajava approached the altar cartwheeling past the traps in the statues. After a short inspection of the 'altar' which was really a sarcophagus, she discovered that a second language was writing on the tomb itself. Not able to translate this second language, Ajava pushed open the sarcophagus. A spectre-like creature formed from the darkness in the sarcophagus, and attacked!

The creature fought with great strength, and Ajava knew she was going to lose unless she gained an significant advantage. In a last-ditch effort, she mind tricked the creature to make it forget her. This appeared to remove the creature completely from the room. However, as Ajava looked inside the sarcophagus, the creature reappeared behind her and immediately attacked again. She dodged the attack, but her lightsaber was cleanly cut in two.

Fearing for her life, Ajava fled the room and ran into the temple. After she ran for an undetermined time, she stumbled and realized that she would get out of this alive. Opening herself to the dark side of the force, she determines the source of dark power in the temple, and heads toward it. She is led to the dark door, and confidently enters it. Inside, she finds two crystals dubbed the 'Twin Crystals of Tinnu'.

She finishes her new lightsabers just in time, as the spectre creature starts to enter the room. The creature blocks the door, and its body starts to form again. Again they do battle, with Ajava finally overcoming the creature by attacking the connection of darkness between the door and the creature's torso. The darkness withdrew, and only a body was left on the ground. Upon close inspection, it appeared to be the body of Shebi Ajava, albeit older, with multiple scars and saber wounds, and a cybernetic implant.

After overcoming the creature and seeing herself as a corpse, Ajava enters a deep meditation to determine the meaning of the body. Hours later, she opens her eyes again, but the body has disappeared. She went back to the room with the sarcophagus, to search for the holocron that was supposed to be in this temple. Unfortunately, she could not find it.

Outside the sun had risen after the hours of meditation, searching and running through the temple. But just as she was about to exit, she noticed a glint in the corner of her left eye. Turning her head, she saw a room to the side of the entry hall way opposite the exit door, cast in darkness as the light coming in from outside did not pierce that far in. And at the end of that side room was another altar, a red tetrahedral holocron floating above it, casting the only light in the area.

Before her lay two paths - right, out into the bright new day towards her ship and left into the shadowy room towards the tetrahedral holocron. She chose the dark path without hesitation.

Arriving back at the Jedi Temple, Master Screetor escorted her to a changing room where her Knight's robes were waiting for her. After a quick shower she put on her belt with her new sabers and the holocron, and put her knight's robes on. Exiting the changing room on the other side, a circle of Jedi was waiting for her, and master screetor led the knighting ceremony and dubbed Shebi Ajava a Knight of the Union.
