The Miomanian Colonists is a sovereign state in Sector 14 -5. It is a Representative Democracy, composed of a mix of Vratix and other species. Originally from Thyferra, the Mioman Colonists settled on Mioman some four hundred years ago.

The Miomanians are a an influential power in the Union, and the largest provider of relief aid in events such as natural disasters and wars. They have a policy of neutrality on many matters and often choose to refrain from voting on controversial issues. Though its leadership has vehemently defended the worlds membership of the Union, the Miomanian people have a general dislike of the Union, which is likely to have political consequences in the next planetary elections.

The system held the position of Chancellor in the Union from turn 1 to 60.
