In 98 minister of defence Maria Latharion reported that she has received a report that the Mandalorian Fleets are moving troops towards the Union. Following that new intel suggests that two Mandalorian moved outside of mandalorian territory, and towards the Union in 104. In response, Lady Peinaili de Montrève the sundarian senator, pledged two scanning fleets to the intelligence gathering network in that region.

Over time (104-113), the number of Mandalorian fleets went from 2 to 11 with little to no reaction from the Union. In 113, the new minister of defence, Ardios Eldrilith presented his plan for the defence of the Union. He opened a vote to take three Union Defence fleets to combat-ready status, and he proposes a subsidy for member worlds willing to aid in the defence. He also states that “With the current amount of Mandalorian fleets in the region we will not be able to fend them of with only the Union Defense Fleets. We will require additional forces.”

In 117, multiple vessels of the Mandalorian Fleets entered Union territory. Among them were two star destroyers crossing the Union border in Sector 9 -7 to bombard a Bisidn outpost in that sector. The outpost was bombarded from orbit and completely destroyed, killing all 15.000 inhabitants.

Soon after the start of the Mandalorian invasion, the Unified Empire of Azaryan Colonies called out to the Union for help with a Mandalorian invasion of their system.

In 124, chancellor Ardios Eldrilith openend a vote to start the collection of 100 war taxes each from each member, to fund the activation of Union fleets.

After a period of all-out war, the Mandalorian Fleets started their retreat in 130.

In 142 the new chancellor, Nehket Aeka, closed a vote on stopping the collection of war taxes with 14 votes in favour of the 16 expressed votes.
