Catherine Moore

Catherine Moore, or Cathy as she is called by her mistress, is one of Shebi Sundara's slaves. She usually goes about her business dressed in simple clothing in the veolian tradition.

She is a talented tailor and flute player, and is fluent in Galactic Basic and the veolian dialect Láadan.

The following account of Catherine's early life is not public knowledge.

Catherine Moore, was born in the megalopolis Anavar on Dhiahamara. As a human, she only attended the lowest Consult. Her mother is incarcerated for dealing in illegal drugs and herbs. Her father was killed by teprogrenaian thugs as a warning to the other humans to pay their protection money. Because she was warned that she will be next, she feared for her life and not knowing what to do, she turned to Tarina to get her off Dhiahamara.

Tarina persuaded her that she could get away from the thugs by becoming a veolian slave. Tarina then proceeded to give her away as a gift to Hatyārā, the wife of crime boss Arapadh Malikar. On 2014-02-14, Catherine was delivered to the Naraka space station in 10 -5, a station known as a smugglers den. There she was picked up by two operatives working for the criminal couple, and was given forged papers.

Catherine was with Hatyārā for a year, serving as the woman's plaything. During this year Shebi Sundara met Catherine fleetingly when the noblewoman discussed some business with Hatyārā. After about a year, Hatyārā grew bored with her plaything. Recognizing the value of her artistic skills, she was sold to a broker with contacts in the high nobility. Word of this reached Shebi Sundara and she was quick to buy the human slave.
