Starting as Senator for the Confederacy of Excaria, Bolv'ar served as Minister of Defence in turn 1-20 and again in turn 21 to 40, running in both the Turn 20 Union Elections and the Turn 40 Union Elections against Acehtoo, chancellor at the time, and coming in second both times. His campaign for better defences for the union finally reached fruitation in the Turn 60 Union Elections where he was elected chancellor. After some political uproar, he stepped down and did not compete in the Turn 80 Union Elections.
Bolv'ar was asked to lead the Djana Military Research Centre and took the job starting in 
98. He kept the job until 137, when he was accidentally murdered in a murder attempt on his wife.
