[ Guides ]
This guide walks you through character creation.
Before you can do anything on the wiki you will need to think up your character. This means defining characteristics such as name and description. As extra preparation you will need a portrait and a race for your character. If you have not yet created a race you should do so first using the Create a Race guide.
The character builder can be found by going to tools → character builder or by using this direct link: character builder
You can then fill in name, age and titles. You can set your portrait with the Upload/Select-button. Follow the dialog to upload your image. Once uploaded, look up your image in the list and click it once. The dialog should now close and you can see a preview of the image on the right. Try to upload images that are 300×300 pixels in size, or at least square.
The factions field is for listing what factions your character is affiliated with. This will typically only be your faction and the union. Since you are always affiliated to the union this affiliation is listed by default and you only need to enter your faction. If you want more affiliations you can use a ',' to separate them. If you do not want to be affiliated to the union you will need permission from a storyteller. They can also explain how to remove this affiliation.
Then you can select:
The role of a character: a senator speaks for your faction in the senate. He typically has permission to make important decisions for your faction. This will also be the person to vote on behalf of your faction, if they have voting rights. A leader is a boss/king/president/something of your faction, they have no special permissions in the union unless they also pick themselves as a senator. A jedi is a force sensitive person who is part of the jedi council. Selecting jedi as your role unlocks a lot of extra option. These are described in the Building a Jedi. Be sure to continue reading there if you are building a jedi. Other is for every other role, such as barkeep, newsreader or reporter. It is possible that your character has multiple roles. If this is the case, you will have to edit the wiki-entry later.
Preferred gender pronoun: For most characters can just pick masculine, if they are male, or feminine, if they are female. However there are races that require more thought. English only supports four genders linguistically: masculine (he), feminine (she), neutral (it, one), or plural (they). If your race has non-default gender options you will have to think about how your character would like to addressed in standard.
Race: Then you can press Save your character. This will lead you to an editor for the wiki page of your character. Here you can edit the description of your character and preview how your character page looks like. If you are satisfied with your character page you can click save to commit your character to the wiki. When you do this your character page will still have a wip tag. This is fine, if a storyteller comes by and also thinks your character is complete he will remove it.
