The Teprogrenaian Consensus is a remote faction in the Union inhabited by teprogrena. There are two kinds of teprogrena, Danar and the cyborg Fecta.

Its government is a consensus system, everybody has its say in laws and decisions, and everybody is encouraged to join the discussion. A vote is only passed when everybody agrees, otherwise it needs to be revised.

To make it possible for everybody to join the discussion, their government exists of smaller groups, Consults, each with their own specialty. First the people within a Consult need to agree before an envoy is sent to the next Consult for further discussion.

This system works so well for them because of their selfless nature and their tendency to self sacrifice for the greater good. There is very little internal conflict and most fights are verbally. Teprogrena going into a physical fight is extremely rare and a murder practically never happens.

Although this system works for the teprogrena, it is slow and they know that. So they have made contingency plans for when immediate decisions are required. Leaders are chosen in advance to step up and make sure adequate actions are taken if needed so the Teprogrenaian Consensus can still quickly response to war or disasters.

The Teprogrenaian Consensus developed hyperspace travel at the early stages of the times of chaos. Not prepared and not fit for conflict, they encountered heavy losses against space pirates. This made them realize that other people outside their system are not always nice and friendly, and that conflict always lies around the corner.

To protect themselves against the violence, they spend the better part of the last 2000 years to build The Cradle, a space station the size of a moon with the intention to protect their homeworld and to serve as an escape pod might their world become uninhabitable.

They elected Senator Danar Tassar to be their representative. Quickly they became an inner world, promoting Senator Danar Tassar to real senator. Since turn 71 has the economy of the consensus grown big enough to become an inner world. In turn 72 Danar Torig is forwarded for economical dealings in Union.

The embassy of the Teprogenaian Consensus is located in the main senate building at the 28th floor.

The teprogrena are a technical based race. Their way of life comes pretty close to a obsession with cybernetics. Instead of developing organic healthcare, they most of the time prefer a mechanical replacement. This makes there death rate of other than natural cause low. After all, when someone is in a bad shape the teprogrena can revive the person most of the time with implants. They can extend this technique to the point that a teprogrenian cyborg can exist with nothing more than a brain, lungs and a heart.

As one of the few intelligent species, they did not evolve out of hunters, but of prey. Although in their primitive times they evolved into dedicated insect eaters, they were the food of a much larger and stronger species on their planet. To survive they lived in groups trying to spot en elude their much stronger enemy. In time they learned to use sticks and stones as weapons and eventually they managed to defend themselves and kill their hunters. In the passing era the teprogrena perfected their methods and eventually the giant beast got extinct.

In that time they didn't realised it, but this event had a great impact on their culture and view of the world. Teprogrena never hunt or kill each other on purpose, but co-operate as much as possible. Religion never got any foothold in their society, as it was science and skill what killed the beast, not a mighty hand of god. Being the weaker kind also resulted into very few individuals with ambition to more power.

To be able to uphold their consensus system, the government of the teprogrena consists of tons of smaller discussion groups, so called 'Consults'. Every Consult exists roughly of 20 to 50 people and have regular discussions about the decisions to take. Then one chosen of every Consult is send to a higher Consult were they discuss the different views of the lower Consults. This goes all the way up to the top. To make decisions faster, Consults can give their representative power to vote for the other as well without going back in discussion all the time. They way this is handled differs form Consult to Consult.

When quick action is necessary from the Consensus, the vote over the action is done bottom-up: The lower Consult makes a decision, then brings this decision up to the higher consult who then quickly go over this decision and bring that up till the vote has reached the required Consult to execute the action. When there is no haste, the decision then goes back down again to check if everybody is okay with that. This process is repeated till a consensus is reached.

The main body of the Teprogrenaian Consensus exists of 5 sets Consults. Each Consult specialised in their own area of expertise. These Consults do not interfere too much with each other, but often cooperate in all kinds of matters. Often when time is limited and when the expertise of another Consult is required, the opinion of this Consult is often accepted as a good one and then used in further discussions.

There are many many Consults, with the average civilian being member of four to five Consults. There is for example the West-Aurian Freelancers IT Consult, the Aurian air quality Consult, the Consult of military-technological for side arms, and so on.

Within the Teprogrenaian Consensus some people stand out due to their position and achievements.

• Danar Tassar - Part of the highest political Consult and chosen senator to represent the Teprogrenaian Consensus in the Union. Some say that he is the most powerful teprogrenus ever from the Consensus.
• Danar Torig - Headmaster of the Teprogrenaian Intergalactic Economy. He represents the economical Consult and is the main person to handle intergalactic deals.
• Jedi Fecta Trigiel - Once a talented but undisciplined starfighter pilot, now a talented but undisciplined jedi.
• Danar Lorum - Board member to represent the Teprogrenaian Consensus at the Djana Military Research Centre. His entire life he has been a bridge between technology and military, something what came to an apex by becoming board member of the Djana Research Centre.
• Danar Sylvia - After being hostess of The Great Intergalactic Discussion of Life, she worked her way up in the Consults as negotiator and political debater. Shy stands a high chance succeeding Danar Tassar as Senator if for some reason Tassar would stand down for some reason.
• Fecta Legin - Professor of philosophy. One of the within the Consensus. He published some important papers around the selfless behaviour of teprogrena compared to the egoistic behaviour of humans, the change of collective thinking over the past thousand years and how technology has impacted the ideals of teprogrena and vice versa.
• Fecta Curssum - Now assistant of Danar Torig, he wears the purely symbolic title of 'Negotiator Teprogrenaian-Praetorian Trade'. If he was older and have more experience, he stands a high chance to became Headmaster Teprogrenaian Intergalactic Economy himself one day.
• Fecta Felati - The teprogrenaian news reporter for the UCN.
• Admiral Fecta Ritgor - Important admiral in the Teprogrenaian Consensus.
• Fecta Tapata - Member of the High Political Consult
• Fecta Maladin - Member of the Hight Technological Consult

These are used names, but not necessarily important or known.

Because of the physical difference between the Danar and the Fecta these characteristic is stated in formal situations. This prevents misunderstandings and awkward situations. In a talk for example. With friends or when it is obvious about who it is then the preposition of the division is unnecessary.

For example:

Danar Tassar is the person Tassar with as subspecies Danar. People who don’t know Tassar in person will refer to him as Danar Tassar. Fecta Legin is the person Legin with as subspecies Fecta.

When Danar Tassar is speaking with Fecta Legin about the new person in town: Fecta Rigin then they will refer to him as Fecta Rigin. However when they talk only to each other they will simply use their names: Tassar and Legin.

In general, people also have titles like 'senator', 'Headmaster of X' or 'Coordinator'. Although it is common to introduce one to another with the titles included, these titles don't have to be used while addressing somebody. So although Torig introduces himself as 'Danar Torig, Headmaster Teprogrenaian Intergalactic Economy', just addressing him with Torig in person or Danar Torig to be on the safe side is sufficient.

There is a clear difference in how males and females are named. Males alwways have a name with two syllables and females have names with three syllables.

When a person is chosen as representative, this person will speak in the 'we' and 'our' form. This can be any kind of representative, a host of a conference or senator or captain of a ship. As the Teprogrena are living in consensus, an individual is supposed to tell the opinion of the consensus. One is of course to state his or her personal opinion, but the culture tells him to act according to the consensus. In their own language, they have many words for 'we' and 'our', 'you' and 'your' to indicate the difference between size and type of representative, however in common galactic everything is simply translated as 'we' and 'our'. To overcome this lack of clarity in the basic galactic tongue, Teprogrenaian people often add who they mean when using the 'we' and 'you' form.

The Teprogrena has their own holonet for messages. Their news goes over it, and it is a common choice if someone likes to send an anonymous message.

Although the Teprogrenaian Consensus will always choose peace over war, they rely on a good military to keep the peace. Their first fleet is the Teprogrenaian Asim-Caltro Fleet. Their second fleet is the Teprogrenaian Vobis-Stupra Fleet.
